About Jewelry
Nearly everything in this department is estate, meaning previously owned and one of one. There is no reorder: when a piece sells it is gone, and what replaces it is whatever came across the counter that week. That is worth knowing before you wait on something you like.
We price on what a piece is worth as jewelry — craftsmanship, stones, brand, age, and condition — rather than on metal weight alone, and we describe estate wear honestly instead of presenting a used piece as new. A well-made or collectible piece is worth more intact than melted, and we will tell you when that is the case.
Coin jewelry is part of this department rather than the whole of it. We regularly carry bezel-mounted pendants and rings built around pre-1933 U.S. gold, Morgan and Peace dollars, sovereigns, and world issues, along with loose bezels and mounts for collectors setting their own coins. That is a genuine specialty of a coin dealer, and it sits alongside the estate and fine jewelry we sell.
If you are selling rather than buying, bring the piece in. We test metal with Sigma Metalytics verification, weigh on certified scales, and walk through every calculation before making an offer. Evaluations are free, there is no obligation, and we pay the same day. We buy broken and mismatched gold as readily as wearable pieces.
