Description

The 2007 American Silver Eagle $1 is a 1 troy oz fine silver coin issued by the United States Mint, here certified Gem Uncirculated by the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) under certification number 3121187-192. The American Silver Eagle series, authorized by the Liberty Coin Act of 1985, is the official silver bullion coin of the United States and one of the most widely collected modern silver coins in the world. The obverse carries Adolph A. Weinman's celebrated Walking Liberty motif — originally designed for the 1916 Walking Liberty half dollar — depicting Lady Liberty striding confidently toward the sunrise, draped in the American flag. The reverse features John Mercanti's heraldic bald eagle with shield, olive branch, arrows, and the ribbon inscribed E Pluribus Unum, encircled by the inscription UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and the denomination 1 OZ. FINE SILVER — ONE DOLLAR. Sealed in NGC's signature hard plastic slab, the coin is protected from handling and environmental exposure, making it an ideal centerpiece for a type set, a date-run collection, or a bullion holding in certified form.

Frequently asked questions

This coin is certified by the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC), one of the two leading third-party grading services. Gem Uncirculated designates a coin with strong mint luster, sharp strike, and no wear from circulation — representing an exceptional example straight from the mint.
The 2007 American Silver Eagle contains exactly 1 troy oz of 0.999 fine silver. This fineness and weight are inscribed directly on the reverse of the coin, reading 1 OZ. FINE SILVER, and are backed by the full faith of the United States government.
The obverse Walking Liberty design was created by Adolph A. Weinman and first appeared on U.S. coinage in 1916. The reverse heraldic eagle was designed by John Mercanti, a former Chief Engraver of the U.S. Mint, and has appeared on every American Silver Eagle since the series launched in 1986.
The coin is encapsulated in NGC's rigid, tamper-evident plastic slab. The slab displays the NGC label with certification number 3121187-192, which can be verified in the NGC online registry. This hard case protects the coin's surfaces and luster for long-term storage and display.
