The 2007 American Silver Eagle $1 is a 1 troy oz fine silver coin issued by the United States Mint, here certified Gem Uncirculated by the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) under certification number 3121187-192. The American Silver Eagle series, authorized by the Liberty Coin Act of 1985, is the official silver bullion coin of the United States and one of the most widely collected modern silver coins in the world. The obverse carries Adolph A. Weinman's celebrated Walking Liberty motif — originally designed for the 1916 Walking Liberty half dollar — depicting Lady Liberty striding confidently toward the sunrise, draped in the American flag. The reverse features John Mercanti's heraldic bald eagle with shield, olive branch, arrows, and the ribbon inscribed E Pluribus Unum, encircled by the inscription UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and the denomination 1 OZ. FINE SILVER — ONE DOLLAR. Sealed in NGC's signature hard plastic slab, the coin is protected from handling and environmental exposure, making it an ideal centerpiece for a type set, a date-run collection, or a bullion holding in certified form.
