Description

The 2015 American Silver Eagle graded MS69 by the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation is a premier example of the United States Mint's flagship silver bullion coin. Struck in one troy ounce of fine silver, the coin's reverse inscription — "1 oz. Fine Silver ~ One Dollar" — confirms its metal content and legal-tender status. The obverse carries Adolph A. Weinman's celebrated Walking Liberty design, depicting Lady Liberty striding confidently toward the sunrise, a composition originally introduced on the 1916 Walking Liberty half dollar and widely regarded as one of the most artistically distinguished in American coinage history. The reverse presents John Mercanti's heraldic bald eagle, wings spread and shield centered, clutching an olive branch and arrows beneath thirteen stars and the motto E Pluribus Unum. NGC's MS69 designation places this coin in the near-perfect tier of the Sheldon scale, indicating exceptional luster and strike with at most two minor imperfections. The coin is sealed in NGC's exclusive red, white, and blue American flag holder, making it a visually striking addition to any certified silver eagle collection or patriotic display.

Frequently asked questions

The coin contains one full troy ounce of fine silver, as inscribed on the reverse: '1 oz. Fine Silver ~ One Dollar.' This is the standard silver content for all American Silver Eagle bullion coins issued by the United States Mint.
The Walking Liberty motif was created by sculptor Adolph A. Weinman and first appeared on U.S. half dollars from 1916 to 1947. It is widely considered one of the finest coin designs in American history. The U.S. Mint revived it for the American Silver Eagle series beginning in 1986.
The NGC patriotic flag holder is a special-edition slab variant featuring a red, white, and blue American flag insert behind the coin. The coin remains fully encapsulated and protected within the tamper-evident NGC holder, and the decorative insert adds display appeal without affecting the grade or the coin itself.
